Coral Coast- Exmouth

Pictures of our evening stroll up Mt Nameless at Tom Price

After a very comfy quiet night at Big 4 camp ground in Exmouth we headed for Cape Range national park with lots of water. 90kms to Yardee Gorge and the end of the sealed road. Stop along the way for a few of the famous wildflowers-Sturt desert peas

Great view over the blue sea and to the low limestone hills but no shade, hot midday sun and ground like iron. No chance to put pegs in. Dave getting hotter and more rattled when Youngmi works out we can tie the tent to a low fence.Having put the tent up we find the campground has pit toilets and an ironing board on the beach. What more do you need.

Find a tree to sit under for lunch then walk along Yardee Gorge. Ok but short walk. Lots of birds in the gorge which has the only permanent water in the park.

Sunset stroll along the road is great and results in echidna meetings

Very pleasant night with the sound of the ocean. Up at 6am again as it comes light.
Back along the road 30kms to Turquoise Bay . We are the first people there and it is gorgeous. Great snorkeling beach and we tried to swim out to Ningaloo coral reef. Strong currents so we didn't go too far. Lots of fish and some coral.

Driving back towards Exmouth we met a mum and baby emus.
Very beautiful coral coast but really harsh for campers. Back to the comforts of Big 4 in Exmouth.
