2.5hours and another 220kms brought us to Broome. As it was
going dark we settled for the Broome campground. $40, plenty of space and a
very basic kitchen. Had a good chat that evening in the kitchen with Jacob. One
backpacker had lost his licence for drink driving so his van wasn’t going anywhere.
Roebuck Bay park next day. Stunning location next to
turquoise bay. No kitchen and tiny fridge.Lovely swim at high tide. After dark
it was like a Dracula film with bats everywhere. All night long flapping and
crapping from hundreds of bats. Have to move. Checked other caravan parks and
settled on vacation village. Cheapest and best. Good kitchen , tidy and great
pool.
Looking around Broome we found the Courthouse Market, Roebuck Hotel, RSL club and then a few kms away Cable Beach
Cable Beach nearing sunset |

Saturday was camel racing day.
Walking around Broome we found the Pearl Diver Statue, Japanese cemetry and Streeters Wharf where pearl luggers used to arrive.
Next morning we went to Point Gautheme to look for the dinosaur footprints. We were a bit late and they were under the sea but the scenery was amazing
House and garden near the point. The red dust turned to green
Walking back we saw the camels heading back from yesterdays racing along Cable Beach
Pioneer cemetry in Broome. Someone else made it from Manchester way
