Testing the flexible foot on Mt Baw Baw

Mt Erica near Walhalla Gippsland Victoria. I have been told not to overdo it with my foot until it has regained the flexibilty it lost 50 years ago. However it has been snowing in the Victorian Alps and I am keen to see if the foot works. The good old Toyota Corolla made it up another dirt road to 600 metres. A very muddy track through tree ferns and and tall tall mountain ash wound up to the Mushroom Rocks. I was reminded of the Robert Frost poem of the path less travelled. Patchy snow amongst the granite boulders quickly became a complete covering of clean soft snow. Climbing higher the trees shrank and twisted to become our favourite snow gums. With sunshine it was wonderful. We were told there had been a hut a few minutes past Mt Erica so on we went-just another ten minutes. Only a chimney was left but it was one father christmas would fit down. A sheltered spot with water it would have been good to stay if there was a roof and walls. An effortless slide back down the snowy track and for once we were back well before dark. Boots with Hagloffs insoles were comfy and there was no problem with the feet. Lots of stretching particularly the calf certainly helped. So far so good.
I have recently been told of a 14 year old lad in England with plantar fasciitis in both feet. Lots of specialists, ideas such as bones growing faster than muscles, lots of stretching to no avail. Then a blood test discovered very low Vitamin D levels. Vitamin D tablets sorted this and  the plantar problem. I had low Vitamin D three years ago and have taken tablets since. I shall try increasing the dose.

Bali foot treatment 2012

After a life time of dodgy feet something has to change.
Diagnosed with plantar fasciatis after running 10 times around the oval on a 42 deg day I consulted my doctor, chiropractor, podiatrists, ladies on the market selling insoles and had ultrasounds and xrays. This lovely lady on Bali beach appearrred to say she had the cure but was really offering to remove all the hard skin-no mean feet or is it feat. Her volcanic rock and strong arm made my feet like a baby's bottom or so she said.
An injection in the foot got me walking again and now the Uri Geller of feet is trying to make my feet flexible for the first time in fifty years. I am off there again tomorrow to have the skin gradually separated from the fascia and tendon and anything else making my feet stiff. All this is in preparation to walk through the Himalayas with Youngmi. I hope she can carry me if the cure is not complete by September.
