Port Augusta- 42 degrees

Its not hot , it's bloody hot.Thursday in Port Augusta and the forecast was right.
We finally left Port Lincoln on Tuesday morning with Dave's teeth securely fixed in and the memory of a lovely place, great people and oysters.

About 280kms to Wyhalla with a tea stop at Tumby Bay which was quiet, flat and windy and another stop at Cowell which had some interesting old buildings and paintings exhibited in the toilets.

Wyhalla for the night was interesting. The top tourist campground was $37 as they didn't have unpowered sites. Kitchen OK but lots of noise during the night from the steel works. Phantom of the opera was at the local theatre but we took it easy at the campground and walked along the sea front.

Two guys staying at the campground were upgrading the railway. There previous job was 2 years Broken Hill to Cootamundra. Must be hard hot work and they do 12 days on 2 off and 10 hour days.
Before leaving we visited the lookout and museum and the biggest shopping centre we have seen since Perth

Only 80kms to Port Augusta. Big 4 campsite was good and 20%off if you booked for 2 nights which we did. It was 38degs and forecast to be 42 tomorrow so we were going nowhere. Swimming pool and great kitchen. Chatted to South African ladies and a canadian couple.
On the hot day walked into town and had lunch at the Cooinda Club. Excellent steak and chips and a salad bar. Two yorkshire couples were good company. They had lived in Port Augusta for 40 and 50 years.Red hot so Dave went for a walk and Youngmi went to the library
