Tawoomba, Esk and Noosa

Walked around Warwick in the sun and cool wind. Grand old sandstone buildings.

Driving on across the Darling Downs. Open farming country like East Anglia. Visited an old mansion Gillingandah but pretty decrepit. Builder went bankrupt in late 1800s.

Toowombah was a big place with lots of parkland. Still high up. Lunch in Sizzler with the endless salad bar, tasty. Met a couple in their 80s born in Rhodesia.

The road north climbed higher again for 50kms until we found the bush camping area at Crows Nest. As someone had left a pile of firewood we had to stay. Two other couples camping there so we were not alone. Bush turkeys running around. Walked along the river for 30mins then back to light the fire.

In the dark Dave walked into a wood post bashing his leg. Chatted to one couple and the lady said she had been in hospital with depression for 6 months. Tried drugs, electric shocks without success. A magnetic pulse into her brain was the last thing and it worked. She felt good and the tremor in her hands stopped. Celebrating with a few days camping in the bush.
Walked along the river to a lookout in the morning then drove off towards Noosa.

Esk looked pretty. Near Somerset Lake stopped for lunch and found Dave had left the camera at the campground. Youngmi frustrated as Basil in Fawlty Towers. Bent forward rubbing her hair and maybe bouncing up and down (maybe not).
Drove 90 mins back to campground. The couple have found our camera and given it to the ranger. The ranger has taken it to Towoomba so back we go.Meet three kookaburras at the ranger station.

Happily get the camera then free coffee and help in the info centre. Lady tells us another way to Esk. Big road down the escarpment shortly after leaving Towoomba then flattish land through Lockyer Valley to Esk. Great campsite with Pizza ovens and fire in the kitchen area. Chat to a couple Aussie and Chilean lady. They have a business selling dog clothes.
Next morning meet Jeff who has walked across Oz and is now selling solar panels to properties with generators.

Shortly after leaving it is raining. After Kilcoy it clears and we see the Glass House Mountains. Quick look at Australia Zoo then to Noosa. Lively place with barefoot backpackers, smart restaurants and nice beach.
Sandy Court unit in Noosaville is comfy and has a good washing machine
